Intensified Security Measures for Himachal Pradesh Assembly Session
A comprehensive security plan with 700 personnel has been implemented in Shimla for the Himachal Pradesh Assembly's Budget Session. The strategy involves police, Home Guards, and advanced surveillance, ensuring order and safety throughout the assembly proceedings.

Shimla's security landscape is undergoing a major overhaul as the city gears up for the Himachal Pradesh Assembly's Budget Session, starting March 18. In total, 700 police and Home Guard personnel have been deployed to maintain order, officials confirmed on Tuesday.
The security force comprises 306 police personnel, including 15 gazetted officers, alongside 200 Home Guards. Special forces, such as commandos from the Quick Reaction Team (QRT) and Special Security Unit (SSU), have been strategically placed at key locations.
Senior Superintendent of Police Shimla, Gaurav Singh, noted a multifaceted security strategy is in place, coordinated with district administration and CID. The plan includes CCTV deployment, drone surveillance, and 24x7 checkpoints, supervised by highly-ranked officers, to ensure seamless proceedings of the assembly session.
