Hezbollah's Stealth Tactics Amid Rising Tensions

With the looming threat of an Israeli ground invasion in southern Lebanon, Hezbollah is reverting to its guerrilla warfare roots, applying lessons from past skirmishes with the Israel Defense Forces, as indicated by four Lebanese sources informed on the matter.

The armed Shiite group is operating in small units, avoiding communication devices vulnerable to Israeli surveillance, the sources report. Aligned with Iran, Hezbollah is also rationing its anti-tank rockets in confrontations with Israeli forces, the sources continue.

About fifteen months after the US and France brokered a fragile ceasefire in Lebanon, Hezbollah launched attacks on Israel, retaliating for the assassination of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Israel responded with bombings, especially targeting southern Lebanon and Beirut suburbs, Hezbollah strongholds. Security sources suggest Hezbollah is preparing for prolonged conflict as Israel continues its military operations.
