Tamil Nadu's Untapped Startup Potential: A Call to Action

Union Minister Jitendra Singh emphasized the importance of collaboration between Tamil Nadu and the central government to bolster the state's startup ecosystem. Speaking at the Research, Industry, Startup, and Entrepreneurship (RISE) Conclave, he pointed out the untapped potential despite Tamil Nadu's contribution of 34,000 registered startups.
Singh called for creating a supportive environment in tier-II and III cities to drive innovation and entrepreneurship. He also highlighted central initiatives, including the establishment of a Centre of Excellence in Kanchipuram and collaborations between CSIR and academia to boost industrial research.
Regarding India's space missions, Singh assured ongoing confidence in ISRO with 18 launches planned this year. He confirmed the Gaganyaan mission timeline for 2027, alongside plans for deep-tech sector support and nationwide conclaves to spread awareness among the youth.
