Pioneering AI: Building the China-ASEAN Ecosystem

The recently held 2026 China-ASEAN AI Capacity-Building Training Program in Kuala Lumpur showcased the transformative role of artificial intelligence in Southeast Asian industries. Organized by key Asian engineering and educational institutions, it emphasized collaboration on AI technologies and governance.

Professor Dou Dejing of Beijing Electronic Digital & Intelligence (BEDI) presented at the event, illustrating AI applications in healthcare and manufacturing. He introduced BEDI's strategic framework of 'one AI foundation + two industry platforms,' which focuses on delivering industry-specific digital solutions in China through comprehensive AI capabilities.

The seminar also spotlighted BEDI's initiatives, such as its collaboration with the China-Japan Friendship Hospital and operations at the Foshan AI-Enabled Traditional Manufacturing Base, aimed at scaling AI approaches to foster industry growth, efficiency, and new business models within the China-ASEAN context.
