The Mana Mitra governance platform in Andhra Pradesh has reached a significant milestone, amassing over 50 lakh users and providing more than 2.5 crore services within a year of its launch. The initiative stands out as a key digital governance tool, enabling citizens to make payments and access crucial documents through a user-friendly WhatsApp interface.
This flagship platform marks a transformative step in public service delivery, allowing residents to complete essential tasks conveniently via their mobile phones, even from outside the state. Currently offering over 900 services, the government aims to increase this number to 1,000 by February. The platform is operable in both English and Telugu and integrates Artificial Intelligence for voice command functionality.
The initiative's impact is further amplified by a collaboration with Meta, aiming to boost service offerings through an official WhatsApp service number. Highlighting its swift implementation, IT Minister Nara Lokesh noted that the platform launched within three months of the strategic partnership announcement. Mana Mitra facilitates a range of services, from APSRTC ticket bookings to tax payments, positioning itself as a comprehensive public service hub.
