At a fintech conference, EU officials highlighted the need for control over vital technologies and warned of increased vulnerability to cyberattacks due to limited cloud providers.
On Tuesday, the European Union's Financial Services Commissioner called for Europe to maintain control over essential technologies crucial to its economies, amid growing concerns over reliance on U.S. technology firms.
Addressing a Brussels conference, Commissioner Maria Luís Albuquerque and a Netherlands central bank official emphasized the need for European technological independence to mitigate security threats and economic dependencies.
