Reddit has taken legal steps by filing a lawsuit against several companies, including Perplexity, Oxylabs UAB, AWMProxy, and Serpai. The complaint accuses these firms of illicitly scraping Reddit's content, breaching privacy and data use regulations.

According to Reddit, these companies disguised their identities to unlawfully gather data from Reddit through Google Search. The extracted content was allegedly utilized to train an AI-based search engine developed by Perplexity.
