Digital Chaos: The Great AWS Outage that Shook the Internet
Amazon's AWS cloud services experienced a major outage, causing global disruptions among thousands of websites and apps, including Snapchat, Reddit, and Zoom. The issue originated in the US-EAST-1 data center, stemming from a problem with the Domain Name System. Full service was restored by Monday afternoon.

On Monday afternoon, Amazon announced that its cloud service, AWS, returned to normal operations following an extensive internet outage. The disruption impacted a multitude of online services, including popular platforms such as Snapchat and Reddit, causing significant global challenges.
The outage, originating in the US-EAST-1 data center, was attributed to issues within Amazon's Domain Name System (DNS). This prevented applications from accurately accessing AWS's DynamoDB API, a crucial database for storing user data and critical information.
Experts highlight the reliance on a limited number of global cloud providers as a potential vulnerability, as evidenced by the vast impact of the outage. Despite the setback, Amazon's shares saw a slight increase, rising by 1.6% to $216.48.
