Chelsea Terminates Manager Liam Rosenior Amidst Historic Drought
Chelsea has dismissed manager Liam Rosenior after a disappointing run left their Champions League hopes uncertain. Appointed in January, Rosenior led the team to their worst goal drought in over a century, suffering seven losses in eight games. Calum McFarlane will temporarily replace him as head coach.
Chelsea Football Club has parted ways with manager Liam Rosenior following a disastrous series of performances that jeopardized the team's Champions League aspirations and culminated in a historic goal-scoring drought.
Rosenior, who took over in January after Enzo Maresca's exit, was dismissed after a mere four months amid turmoil including seven losses in their last eight matches across all competitions. The decision came on the heels of a 3-0 defeat against Brighton & Hove Albion, relegating Chelsea to a precarious position in sixth place, seven points behind Liverpool.
The club announced the decision was made after considerable deliberation, expressing gratitude towards Rosenior and his staff. Calum McFarlane has been appointed interim head coach until season's end, as Chelsea aims to rebound in the remaining fixtures.
