Indian golfer Pranavi Urs commenced the Joburg Ladies Open with an impressive bogey-free 3-under 70, marking her as the standout among the Indian players competing this week. Despite the first round being incomplete at the Par-73 Randpark Golf Club, Urs tied for 22nd, leading the Indian pack.

Tvesa Malik and Diksha Dagar wrapped up the first round at 1-under 72, tying for 52nd, while Avani Prashanth and Hitaashee Bakshi encountered difficulties, finishing with 2-over 75 and 4-over 77, respectively. Malik, once at 4-under on the front nine, succumbed to late-round woes, enduring a double bogey and a bogey on the 15th and 16th holes.

Diksha Dagar's round featured five birdies, offset by three bogeys and a double bogey. Meanwhile, the clubhouse lead is shared by Agathe Laisne of France, Brianna Navarossa of the US, and France's Ariane Klotz, all carding impressive 7-under 66s. Scotland's Laura Beveridge and Australia's Justice Bosio trail closely at 6-under 67.
