Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya admitted that the team must reassess its performance following a seven-wicket defeat against Punjab Kings at Wankhede Stadium. He emphasized the need to analyze whether the issues are individual, in planning, or in execution, while praising Punjab for their superior showing.
Pandya highlighted key match conditions like reverse swing and dew but conceded Punjab's overall dominance. "Credit to Punjab for their performance; they bowled, batted, and fielded better," he remarked, suggesting that the team might need to consider making difficult decisions to reverse their fortunes.
Punjab Kings' victory enhanced their standing, taking them to the top of the IPL 2026 table, while Mumbai slipped to ninth. MI's Quinton de Kock shone with a strong 112 not out, supported by Naman Dhir's quick 50, but it wasn't enough against a commanding PBKS chase led by Prabhsimran Singh's unbeaten 80.
