Chennai Super Kings have suffered a significant blow with pacer Khaleel Ahmed being sidelined due to a quadriceps injury. Ahmed was instrumental in the team's initial performances in the IPL season.
The injury, which surfaced as hip pain against KKR, has now been diagnosed as a grade 2 tear. An IPL source confirmed that the rehabilitation process for Ahmed will span 10 to 12 weeks.
Khaleel Ahmed's absence marks a critical point for CSK as they reassess their strategies moving forward, given his contribution in the early games. Ahmed's international experience includes playing 11 ODIs and 18 T20s for India.
