Murali Sreeshankar made an impressive comeback, securing victory in the men's long jump with an 8.15m leap at the Indian Athletics Series held on Saturday. This performance marks his best since undergoing knee surgery in 2024, surpassing his previous season-high of 8.13m.

Despite missing the 2024 Paris Olympics due to surgery, Sreeshankar was the only athlete to exceed the 8m mark at the Kanteerava Stadium. Sunny Kumar of Bihar followed in second place with 7.90m, and Purushotham from Karnataka claimed third with 7.87m.

In other events, Reagan Ganesh impressed in pole vaulting with a 5.35m effort, while Tamil Arasu and Giridharani Ravi Kumar dominated the 100m races. The championships showcased remarkable talents across disciplines, shining a spotlight on India's athletic prowess.
