India is set to make its long-awaited return to Belfast, playing two T20 Internationals against Ireland in June 2026, according to a statement by the BCCI. This will be the first time the reigning world champions travel to Belfast since 2007. The matches are scheduled on June 26 and 28.
Both games serve as a prelude to India's subsequent white-ball series in England, including five T20Is and three ODIs. The Indian team will wrap up their series against Afghanistan before this European visit, with the Ireland leg being a key highlight of their summer plans.
Ireland's director of high performance, Graham West, confirmed the series while announcing a leadership change in T20 captaincy. With Paul Stirling stepping down, the series offers a fresh opportunity for the new captain to showcase a distinctive style ahead of the 2028 T20 World Cup.
