India to Host 2028 World Indoor Athletics Championships

India has been selected to host the 2028 World Indoor Athletics Championships, a prestigious event in the international athletic community. The decision was confirmed during a World Athletics Council meeting held in Torun, Poland.

The hosting rights highlight India’s growing prominence in the global sports arena. Bhubaneswar, known for its modern athletic facilities, will be the city to bring this event to life, thanks to previous infrastructure developments at the Kalinga Stadium Complex.

The Athletics Federation of India's earlier bid has materialized into this significant opportunity, signaling a new chapter in India's sports hosting capabilities. World Athletics Vice President Adille Sumariwalla confirmed the decision, underlining the promising future for Indian athletics.
