In a thrilling Group C clash, Sanjay Krishnamurthi's explosive unbeaten 68 propelled the USA to a record T20 World Cup score of 199 for four against Namibia. This must-win victory was crucial for the USA team who surpassed their previous best with Sanjay's dazzling performance.
The 22-year-old cricketer, inspired by India's 2011 World Cup win, began his journey in Bengaluru before moving to San Francisco. His match-winning innings featured six sixes and four fours, and he forged an unbroken 87-run partnership with Milind Kumar, elevating the USA's innings after a mid-match wobble.
Earlier, captain Monank Patel set the tone with a rapid 52 off 30 balls, while Shayan Jahangir contributed with an aggressive start. Despite Namibia's brief resurgence, including wickets by Willem Myburgh, their fielding lapses allowed the USA to capitalize and finish strongly.
