The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) convened a pivotal meeting at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Monday, aiming to refine the country's cricket pathway structure. The focus was on boosting grassroots development, restructuring age-group cricket, and ensuring long-term player and coaching progression, according to a statement released on Wednesday.

Key discussions revolved around enhancing the age-group selection process and implementing better age-verification methods to uphold transparency and credibility. Among other proposals was an incentive system for coaches achieving player development milestones. Establishing a detailed player database for long-term strategy and performance tracking was also highlighted.

The board debated salary structures for divisional and district coaches, addressing the necessity for a defined career pathway to foster professional growth. A Curriculum Review Committee will be formed to update the training and game education materials. The introduction of a National Cricket Academy program for Under-23 players was also discussed as part of the pathway framework.
