Karim Benzema has officially joined Al-Hilal, the current leaders of the Saudi Pro League, the club announced Monday. This move comes after Benzema's contract with Al-Ittihad was terminated, following his rejection of an extension offer.

Benzema signed with Al-Hilal for a year and a half after a highly successful stint at Al-Ittihad, where he led the team to a league title and the King's Cup, marking a historic domestic double for the club.

In his final season with Al-Ittihad, the former Real Madrid star scored 16 goals in 21 matches. Al-Hilal currently tops the league with 47 points, closely followed by Al-Nassr, featuring Cristiano Ronaldo, while Benzema's former team sits in sixth place.
