With the clock ticking down—101 days to go—until the Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics and Paralympics, Austrian athletes showcased their latest Games attire on Tuesday. Set amidst the snow-covered peaks of Mount Patscherkofl near Innsbruck, athletes proudly donned red-and-white uniforms, emblematic of Austria's national colors, in a stunning Alpine setting.
Ahead of the Games scheduled from February 6-22, Austria readies to send a contingent of 110 to 125 athletes. At the Beijing 2022 Games, Austria ranked seventh with 18 medals. 'This number is a very good basis and a very good result,' remarked Austrian Olympic Committee General Secretary Florian Gosch, expressing aspirations for a similar or improved tally at Milano-Cortina.
The Austrian team is in the final stages of preparation, with several World Cup races lined up. 'Our athletes can still refine their performance and form, and we want to support that wherever we can,' noted Horst Nussbaumer, President of the Austrian Olympic Committee, as they look toward international success in Milan, the Dolomites, and the Alps.
