India Shines at Youth Asian Games with Stellar Performances
Indian athletes excelled at the Youth Asian Games, with shuttlers, table tennis players, and swimmers advancing to pre-quarters and finals. Despite a 3x3 basketball quarterfinal loss to Iran, India accumulated 24 medals, including three gold, ten silver, and eleven bronze, placing ninth on the medals table.
Indian athletes have made a promising start at the Youth Asian Games, with impressive performances in badminton and table tennis highlighting the day. Shuttler Vennala Kalagotla and Tankara Talasila secured pre-quarterfinal berths in singles matches.
Despite a setback for the mixed doubles badminton pair and a quarterfinal loss in girls' 3x3 basketball against Iran, the table tennis team achieved significant wins. Sarthak Arya and Syndrela Das, along with Divyanshi Bhowmick and Ritvik Gupta, advanced to the pre-quarters in mixed doubles.
Several Indian swimmers have also advanced, contributing to India's 24 medals so far, including three golds. The nation's athletes have shown remarkable prowess in various disciplines, placing India ninth on the medals table.
