In an astounding performance on Thursday, the Bangladesh spinners took all 10 wickets, leading to an emphatic 179-run victory over West Indies. This win in the third and final ODI match at home gave Bangladesh a 2-1 series victory.
The triumph was highlighted by leg-spinner Rishad Hossain's 3-54, which took his wicket-tally to 12, marking a record for a Bangladesh spinner in a single ODI series. Meanwhile, Nasum Ahmed’s phenomenal 3-11 spell dismantled the West Indies top order, leaving them stumped at 117 runs.
With this victory, Bangladesh celebrated its first ODI series win since March 2024. The Bangladesh openers, Saif Hassan and Soumya Sarkar laid the foundation with an opening partnership of 176. Sarkar's 91 off 86 balls set the pace, aided by Hasan’s brisk 80 from 72 balls. The teams will face off again in a T20 series in Chattogram starting October 27.
