Zimbabwe's rising cricket star, Ben Curran, achieved a significant milestone by scoring his maiden test century. This remarkable feat propelled Zimbabwe to a commanding 198-run lead over Afghanistan on the second day of the lone test match held in Harare. Afghanistan was left trailing at 34-1 in their second innings by the close of play on Tuesday.

The 29-year-old Curran, whose family boasts strong cricketing ties, with his father having played for Zimbabwe and brothers representing England, delivered an impressive 121 runs. Zimbabwe concluded their innings at 359, effectively countering Afghanistan's initial total of 127 all out.

Curran's notable performance featured a critical 99-run partnership with Sikandar Raza for the fifth wicket. Raza contributed 65 runs before being dismissed. Afghan seamer Ziaur Rahman recorded commendable figures of 7-97, marking the second-best test debut for Afghanistan.
