Asia Cup Trophy Controversy: BCCI Stands Firm Against ACC Head's Demands

The ongoing deadlock over the Asia Cup trophy continues as champions India await its arrival. Asian Cricket Council's Pakistani head Mohsin Naqvi remains firm on his stance, refusing to release the trophy despite intervention from the BCCI, supported by the boards of Afghanistan and Sri Lanka.

A top ACC insider revealed to PTI that Naqvi expects a BCCI representative to personally collect the trophy in Dubai, a demand the Indian board has rejected. With no resolution in sight, the BCCI plans to address the issue at an ICC meeting scheduled for next month.

The trophy has been held at the ACC headquarters since an unprecedented incident on September 28, when the Indian team declined to accept it at the presentation ceremony due to existing tensions between India and Pakistan. Mohsin Naqvi's alleged anti-India stance and refusal to move the trophy have further complicated the situation.
