Facing a setback ahead of their ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025 fixture against England, Australia will be missing captain Alyssa Healy, who sustained a minor calf strain during a recent training session. The enforced change sees Tahlia McGrath assume the captaincy against England on Wednesday.

Healy has been indispensable for Australia throughout the tournament, dominating with the bat. She leads the team's run-scoring tally, having accumulated 294 runs in four games, highlighted by an inning of 142 against India, her sixth ODI century that underpinned a historic successful chase.

Her streak continued with an unbeaten 113 in a crushing 10-wicket victory over Bangladesh. After battling back from injury earlier in the year, Healy rejoined the squad in August and has been pivotal ever since. Australia, already through to the semi-finals, will reassess her fitness before facing South Africa.
