Nottingham Forest have named former Everton coach Sean Dyche as their new manager, following the dismissal of Ange Postecoglou. The announcement was made by the Premier League club on Tuesday.

Dyche, who was a youth player for Forest, has signed a contract until the summer of 2027 and will oversee his first match on Thursday against FC Porto in the Europa League. The decision came shortly after Forest's 3-0 defeat to Chelsea left them 18th in the league standings.

Postecoglou's brief 39-day spell is the shortest for any permanent manager sacked mid-season in the Premier League. Dyche, known for his tactical prowess and defensive strategy, previously managed Burnley, leading them to two promotions and a European spot. He replaces Nuno Espirito Santo, now at West Ham, and is tasked with stabilizing Forest.
