Cyber Crime Crackdown: WhatsApp Administrators Booked in Defamation Case

In a significant cyber crime crackdown, eleven people, including six juveniles, have been charged for their alleged involvement in disseminating a pornographic clip falsely tied to a local woman. The controversial video, originating from Hyderabad, led to severe accusations that have prompted swift legal action.
Rudraprayag Superintendent of Police Akshay Konde revealed that the accused oversaw four WhatsApp groups where the video was shared. The incident came to light after the victim's father filed a complaint, insisting the woman in the video was not his daughter, thus defaming her.
The suspects face charges under crucial sections of the Information Technology Act and the Indian Penal Code, stressing the severity of online defamation. Authorities are vigorously investigating the network of suspects to ensure accountability and safeguard individuals from digital harm.
