MMRDA Moves Towards Smarter Urban Future with Raigad-Pen Township Development

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has sealed a deal with Raigad-Pen Growth Centre, marking a significant step towards urban development in Maharashtra. The formal signing was overseen by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis at the Sahyadri Guest House in south Mumbai.

The agreement is aimed at transforming the Raigad-Pen Growth Centre Limited into a cutting-edge, integrated township project. Key components include developing the area as a smart city, with expansion plans in the Pen taluka of Raigad district, thus enhancing its connectivity to major port areas.

Strategically crafted under an integrated township policy framework, the project prioritizes planned urbanisation and infrastructure-driven growth. The vision includes creating a self-reliant township with accommodations for social housing, the official release stated.
