In a tragic turn of events, a massive fire engulfed a cluster of shanties in Delhi's Budh Vihar, resulting in the deaths of a couple and their young child. The incident, reported in the early hours of Wednesday, left behind a trail of destruction and unanswered questions.
Responding swiftly, the Delhi Fire Services dispatched seven fire tenders after receiving an emergency call at 1:25 am. Despite their efforts, high flames and thick smoke rapidly consumed the temporary structures, trapping the family. Officials identified the deceased as 23-year-old Mosibur Dastagir, his 19-year-old wife Monara Sekh, and their two-year-old daughter.
With the investigation underway, police have registered a case to discern the cause of the fire. Meanwhile, grieving families in the vicinity lament the loss, as they prepare to return to their hometowns in West Bengal for upcoming elections.
