In a tragic incident, a five to six-year-old tigress met her untimely demise after being struck by a train in the Dudhwa buffer zone. Officials quickly launched a probe to uncover the specifics of the collision.
Dudhwa buffer zone Deputy Director Kirti Chaudhary confirmed that the investigation is centered on pinpointing the train responsible and checking adherence to speed limits set by the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) for trains running through wildlife areas. This tragedy highlights concerns over wildlife safety in railway zones.
Following the discovery, top officials, including Dudhwa Tiger Reserve field director H Rajamohan, inspected the site. A comprehensive postmortem led by veterinary experts determined that the tigress suffered severe head injuries and internal bleeding, emphasizing the need for stricter enforcement of safety measures.
