K Malhotra, a distinguished figure in India's hydropower sector, has unveiled his latest work, 'A Handbook on Waterbody Conservation'. With over 70 years of experience, Malhotra imparts his knowledge for the preservation of our planet's vital resource—water. The book serves as a comprehensive reference for engineers, students, NGOs, and more.
The launch took place during the sixth edition of 'Jal Yodha Samman 2025' in Bengaluru, an initiative backed by Niti Aayog and the Ministry of Jal Shakti. Graced by notable dignitaries like Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and six Padma Shree awardees, the event celebrated water conservation efforts both nationally and internationally.
This handbook aims to combat engineering failures and a lack of community participation in waterbody projects. It seeks to extend the lifecycle of interventions through meticulous engineering practices and community involvement, proving to be a pivotal resource in sustainable water management.
