A potentially disastrous fire erupted in Jammu city's Transport Nagar on Wednesday, setting several oil tankers ablaze. In a race against time, the fire and emergency services department successfully prevented further devastation, officials confirmed.
The fire began mysteriously in one of the tankers near the RTO office and quickly spread to neighboring tankers. Despite the rapid spread, no casualties were reported, and officials managed to avert a larger catastrophe.
Firefighters, armed with multiple fire tenders, battled the blaze for an hour before fully containing it. The area, densely packed with tankers and jhuggies, remains a high-risk zone, heightening concerns over future incidents.
