A devastating storm swept through Assam's Dibrugarh district on Thursday, officials reported, impacting more than a hundred residents in its wake. The tempest was accompanied by heavy rains that caused significant damage to housing and agriculture.
Particularly hard-hit areas included the Lezai Kalakhowa region within the Khowang Assembly seat. Reports indicate that several villages, notably Dighalia and Panigaon, have experienced extensive destruction to property and farmland.
In one tragic incident, a cow was killed amid the wreckage. Residents affected by the storm are urgently calling for full compensation from the government, as they strive to recover from the calamity.
