Modi Unveils Rs 18,680 Crore Infrastructure Blitz in West Bengal

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit West Bengal on Saturday to launch and lay the foundation for a series of development projects valued at approximately Rs 18,680 crore. These initiatives underscore the central government's commitment to bolstering infrastructure, connectivity, and economic progress in West Bengal and the broader eastern region of India.
The Prime Minister's itinerary includes inaugurating several national highway projects exceeding 420 km in length, with investments approaching Rs 16,990 crore. These projects, which form parts of significant economic corridors, promise to improve road safety, accelerate travel, and reduce pollution, thereby fostering tourism and regional trade.
Modi will also turn his attention to the shipping and rail sectors, unveiling key projects like the mechanisation of Berth number two at Haldia Dock and the rejuvenation of Khidderpore Docks. Additionally, he will flag off a new express train and inaugurate redeveloped railway stations, highlighting an integrated approach to enhancing inter-state connectivity and economic vibrancy.
