In light of increasing forest fires each summer, the Odisha Forest Department is turning to artificial intelligence and drone cameras for early detection and management.
The state’s Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, K Murugesan, announced these technological enhancements, emphasizing the importance of rapid intervention and local collaboration.
Along with deploying 334 special protection teams and conducting over 631 training programs, the department is involving local communities to fortify efforts against the rising threat to both forests and livelihoods.
