Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis assures that Pune’s anticipated growth in infrastructure, industrialization, and urbanization will be matched by the development of Purandar airport. This project is projected to decongest the existing Lohegaon airport.
At a meeting aimed at reviewing the airport project’s progress, Fadnavis emphasized the importance of timely land acquisition by the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC). He urged quick finishing of this process, alongside clarifying responsibilities for agencies like CIDCO and the Urban Development Department.
A comprehensive funding strategy is essential, he said, suggesting the case for available funding be tabled at the next cabinet meeting. The Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC) should spearhead the project, ensuring all decisions are aligned for Pune's promising future growth zone.
