Two maintenance workers were injured following an air-conditioner compressor explosion in Palghar district, Maharashtra. The incident occurred during routine maintenance work at a company in the Boisar MIDC area, as confirmed by Vivekanand Kadam, chief of the Palghar disaster management cell.
The blast, which happened around 3.40 pm on Tuesday, was caused by excessive pressure while filling gas into the compressor. The workers, identified as Atiq Khan and Wasim Salmani, suffered burn injuries ranging from 45 to 50 percent.
After initial treatment in a Boisar private hospital, they were transferred to a Mumbai facility for further medical care. Local authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the explosion.
