Puducherry Advances in Eco-Friendly Transport and Employment Solutions
Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy announced plans for a new industrial estate to tackle unemployment. The government launched 25 e-buses and 38 e-rickshaws to promote eco-friendly transport, along with 15 smart bus shelters. Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy revealed plans to establish a new industrial estate, aiming to alleviate unemployment in the region. The announcement came as part of a broader initiative to boost the workforce and ensure transparent governance.
To advance sustainable transportation, Rangasamy flagged off 25 electric buses, including 10 AC and 15 non-AC models, under a public-private partnership with M/s Evey Trans Private Limited. Additionally, 38 e-rickshaws were introduced, furthering Puducherry’s commitment to environmentally friendly solutions.
The event also saw the inauguration of 15 smart bus shelters, funded by the Puducherry Smart City Development Limited. Lt Governor K Kailashnathan praised the administration’s steps towards eco-conscious transportation, while emphasizing the benefits of profitability in state-run entities.
