Uttar Pradesh Gears Up for Chhath: Ensuring Cleanliness and Uninterrupted Power

He instructs officials to ensure disinfecting, lighting, and road repairs, while also establishing control rooms and proper facilities, ensuring smooth celebrations.

In preparation for the Chhath festival, Uttar Pradesh's Urban Development and Energy Minister AK Sharma has mandated essential measures at all ghats. The minister instructed that cleanliness, fogging, and disinfectant spraying be prioritized at the venues, along with the levelling of ghats and adequate lighting.
During a meeting with officials, Sharma emphasized the repair of potholes on city roads leading to ghats and insisted on an uninterrupted power supply across areas during the festival. He highlighted the significance of temporary lighting arrangements and the proper operation of high-mast lights, stressing adherence to electrical safety standards.
Municipal bodies are also tasked with setting up temporary changing rooms, creating space for waste disposal, and ensuring adequate drinking water and toilet facilities. To prevent technical disruptions, energy department officials will maintain 24-hour control rooms and inspect feeders and transformers in advance.
