A fire sparked by Diwali firecrackers engulfed a four-storey residential building in west Delhi's Mohan Garden, leading to the dramatic rescue of seven residents. The incident occurred on Monday night, with emergency services receiving the call at 10 pm. The fire, concentrated on the first and second floors, began in domestic items, according to the Delhi Fire Services (DFS). Thankfully, there were no casualties reported.

The swift response involved six fire tenders, which managed to bring the fire under control by 11:30 pm. Eyewitness Shekhar recounted the chaos as the fire appeared while bursting crackers. Despite the harrowing event, his brother, who lives in the building, was unhurt. The first two floors bore the brunt of the damage.

Another resident's relative, Maya, described the panic as flames spread rapidly. Her brother-in-law's flat was among those impacted. The building, consisting of 12 flats, saw all its residents safely evacuated, though several units suffered significant damage. Authorities continue to investigate the exact cause of the fire.
