In a bid to ensure maximum safety during the festive season, the Delhi Fire Service (DFS) has cancelled all leaves for its personnel ahead of Diwali, officials confirmed on Monday. The decision reflects thorough preparation to manage potential fire emergencies.
A senior DFS official stated that all fire stations and Quick Response Teams (QRTs) have been placed on high alert, with directives to address all emergency calls without delay. Over 100 locations in Delhi will witness the strategic deployment of quick response teams.
Last year, the DFS control room received over 200 fire-related emergency calls linked to firecrackers and mishandling of festive items. This year, additional staff and emergency vehicles are positioned in high-risk areas such as Sadar Bazar and Chandni Chowk to ensure swift action. Through mock drills and enhanced strategies, DFS pledges to maintain citizen safety during Diwali.
