Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu disclosed on Friday that he underwent treatment for prostate cancer and is currently healthy. This marks his first public admission of the condition, revealing he had prostate surgery about a year and a half ago. More recently, doctors treated a small tumor at Jerusalem's Hadassah Hospital with radiation therapy, a fact not previously announced.

In a statement, the 76-year-old leader explained his decision to delay the announcement by two months, citing concerns over intensifying misinformation against Israel amid conflict with Iran. 'I requested to delay its publication by two months so that it would not be released at the height of the war,' Netanyahu clarified.

Netanyahu affirmed his health, referring to the tumor as a 'minor medical issue.' During the war's early weeks, speculation about his health grew, fueled by fake, AI-generated images depicting Netanyahu's death, shared even by Iranian state media.
