In a fresh political salvo, Himachal Pradesh Industries Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of orchestrating a 'staging drama' around the issue of women's reservation. Alleging the party's intention to mislead citizens for electoral benefits, Chauhan remarked, "The BJP is engaged in theatrics concerning women's reservation, portraying itself as a champion for women without clear intentions."

Chauhan emphasized that while the Women's Reservation Bill garnered bipartisan backing, the BJP's tactics have remained politically-driven, aiming for election mileage rather than authentic empowerment. He questioned the BJP's record on women's leadership, urging them to disclose the number of women appointed as state presidents, thus underlining their superficial commitment.

Turning to a separate political strain, Chauhan addressed the comments by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He downplayed the controversy as a possible verbal slip-up, following an Election Commission ultimatum. Kharge insisted he never labelled the Prime Minister as "a terrorist" but highlighted issues like 'tax terrorism.' Meanwhile, voter participation in West Bengal soared, bolstering Chauhan's assertion that citizens reject BJP's politicization ploys. He expressed confidence in another term for Mamata Banerjee, reinforcing Congress's dedication to sincere women's empowerment.
