The Samrat Choudhary-led NDA government in Bihar has secured a significant political victory by winning the vote of confidence in the state assembly. This development follows a one-day special session where Choudhary proposed the motion asserting trust in the current council of ministers.
The motion was passed by a voice vote in the 243-member House, where the BJP-led NDA holds a commanding majority with 202 seats. Earlier this month, Choudhary became the first BJP leader to assume the top position in Bihar following the resignation of JD(U) president Nitish Kumar, who stepped down upon securing a seat in the Rajya Sabha.
In this reshuffled political landscape, only two JD(U) leaders, Vijay Kumar Chaudhary and Bijendra Prasad Yadav, were appointed as deputy chief ministers. The five-party coalition, which includes LJP(RV), HAM, and RLM, demonstrated a strong electoral performance, winning 202 seats in the November elections last year.
