Mamata Banerjee's Electorate Thunder: Aiming to Conquer Delhi After West Bengal Victory

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday expressed confidence that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) is well-positioned to secure victory in the state's assembly elections, based on the turnout of the first phase of polling.

Addressing supporters at a rally in the Bow Bazar area of Kolkata, Banerjee hinted at broader political ambitions, declaring her intent to challenge the BJP government in Delhi by uniting opposition forces nationwide. She stated, "I don't want the post; I want the end of the BJP government."

As the voter turnout reached 89.93% in 152 out of 294 seats, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking in Krishnanagar, acknowledged it as an 'overwhelming mandate for change'. He criticized the deletion of names in the SIR exercise, to which Banerjee responded that her advocacy had added 32 lakh names to the voter list.
