Iran's Execution Controversy: Silence from Europe Under Scrutiny
Criticism is mounting against European nations for their silence over Iran's executions during heightened tensions. Opposition leader Maryam Rajavi condemned the EU's lack of response, arguing that it emboldens further political executions and nuclear development. The Iranian regime has reportedly executed political prisoners amid ongoing conflicts and international scrutiny.
Maryam Rajavi, the Iranian opposition leader, has turned a critical eye on European nations, accusing them of inaction against Iran's unfolding execution spree.
In a vehement address to the European Parliament, Rajavi, representing the National Council of Resistance of Iran, blasted the European Union for what she described as an indefensible silence as Tehran executed another individual on charges of espionage for Israel.
International rights organizations have already condemned Iran for its history of political repression, which includes executing dissidents and quelling protests with lethal measures.
