Maharashtra minister Girish Mahajan issued an apology after a woman confronted him during a BJP-backed march that led to considerable traffic snarls in Mumbai's Worli area on Wednesday.
The large-scale rally, attracting between 15,000 to 20,000 women, spotlighted the failed attempt to pass a constitutional amendment bill for implementing a 33% reservation for women in legislative bodies.
Despite the woman's aggressive outburst, which included inappropriate language and object throwing, Mahajan instructed police not to take harsh measures against her, acknowledging her urgent situation at the moment.
