Swiss prosecutors have expanded their investigation into a deadly fire at a ski bar that killed 41 people, adding four new defendants to the case. The inquiry initially focused on the bar's French owners, but now includes local officials. There are 13 defendants facing charges.

Switzerland's investigation into a devastating ski bar fire that claimed 41 lives on New Year's Day is intensifying. On Thursday, prosecutors announced that four more individuals have been named in their probe.
The incident occurred at the 'Le Constellation' bar, owned by French nationals Jacques and Jessica Moretti, who are already under scrutiny for alleged negligent homicide. Both owners have expressed sorrow over the tragedy.
Initially centering on the French proprietors, the inquiry has now broadened to encompass current and former local officials, bringing the total number of defendants to 13. If found guilty, they could face up to four and a half years in jail.
