Amid international diplomatic tensions, Lebanon's President Joseph Aoun has no plans to engage in a direct dialogue with Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as suggested by U.S. President Donald Trump. Three senior Lebanese officials confirmed this stance on Thursday.

According to two of these officials, Lebanon's embassy in Washington preemptively communicated with the U.S. administration, stating that President Aoun would refrain from speaking with Netanyahu. The message was relayed during Aoun's call with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

This development underscores the complexity of Middle Eastern diplomacy, highlighting Lebanon's current position and the challenges in facilitating dialogue between the neighboring states.
