Pakistani Army Chief's Mediation Mission to Tehran

The Pakistani delegation, spearheaded by Chief of the Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, arrived in Tehran on Wednesday. This visit is a part of Islamabad's diplomatic efforts to mediate the conflict between the United States and Iran, as announced by the Inter Services Public Relations, the military's media wing.

The delegation, which includes Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, seeks to facilitate dialogue between the conflicting parties. Their visit coincides with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's official trips to Saudi Arabia and Qatar, focusing on regional peace and bilateral cooperation with the leadership of these nations.

Earlier attempts at direct US-Iran negotiations in Pakistan ended without resolution, but a second round of discussions is anticipated. The ongoing conflict, triggered by US and Israeli attacks on Iran, has disrupted global energy markets, prompting Pakistan's active mediation efforts.
