Tight Race: Lula and Bolsonaro Neck-and-Neck in Brazilian Election Polls
A recent poll indicates a close race between Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and Senator Flavio Bolsonaro, with Bolsonaro slightly ahead in a potential runoff. This is the first time Bolsonaro has led Lula in a second-round scenario. The poll surveyed 2,004 individuals with a margin of error of two percentage points.
For the first time, Brazilian Senator Flavio Bolsonaro is showing a lead over President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva in a potential election runoff, as indicated by a recent Quaest poll commissioned by Genial.
The poll, released Wednesday, places Bolsonaro at 42% and Lula at 40%, a statistical tie within the survey's margin of error. This marks a significant shift since March, when both candidates were deadlocked at 41% each in a potential runoff scenario.
The first-round poll results show Lula with 37% support and Bolsonaro with 32%, highlighting the intense competition leading up to the general election. Quaest conducted the survey from April 9-13 among 2,004 respondents, and it has a two-point margin of error.
